A social hostel for backpackers, couples, and solo travelers

Dorm Bed from $10.11
Private Room from $15.83
Overall Rating: 99%
No.31 Jining Lu, Qingdao
This established and popular hostel, conveniently located in Old Town, has recently undergone a huge renovation lasting four months in which almost everything was upgraded (central heat/air, better bathrooms, etc.). The location really can't be beat, as it is just a stone's throw from everything in Old Town such as the old churches, the German street, the park, and all of the shops and restaurants.

Private rooms and dorms are available. Dorms are modern, upgraded, and have lights and outlets at each bunk. Lockers for bags are also in the rooms. Private rooms come in a variety of sizes and price levels. Many have ensuite bathrooms (very nicely done!) and TVs. Some of the higher rooms have great views, and the deluxe rooms come with free breakfast. All of the rooms are nicely decorated.

Security is taken seriously, with lockers in dorms, nightly security patrols, 24-hour reception and staff, etc.

The spacious common areas are terrific and comfortable. The main restaurant dining area is also a lounge with sofas and is a good spot to eat, socialize, and plan your day. A game room with a pool table and foosball is also provided. Various terraces and balconies overlook the city. A separate TV/movie room with a large sofa is a good spot to unwind, as is the separate library room for those that want a quiet place to read and relax. Why would you ever leave? The restaurant even employs a western chef so that you can have a true taste of home if you're tired of Chinese food. And there are discounts for those willing to help out around the hostel, such as in the kitchen or for nightly entertainment.

The staff can also book onward tickets and tours if needed. Other typical amenities are available such as free Wi-Fi, laundry machines, luggage storage, bike rental, car parking, etc.

Guest reviews (and there are plenty as this place has been around for a long time) highlight the extremely friendly staff and the amazing location. The newly upgraded bathrooms are also having a positive impact on guests, as they are not only clean and modern, but nicely decorated as well. You've really got to see the photos

Highly recommended!

Private rooms and dorms are available, including an all-female dorm. Private rooms come in a variety of sizes, from small twin rooms to larger family rooms. Some of the private rooms also have ensuite bathrooms.

The common areas are spacious. In addition to the outdoor courtyards, they also have an indoor restaurant lounge area, plus a billards room and a library.
