The family that owns and runs the hostel also lives on the premises, and so they take pride in their hostel as well as the service they provide. They not only keep the facilities clean and comfortable, but they also take good care of their guests, making sure everyone is safe and comfortable, and they provide great advice for traveling in the area as well as all around Australia.

The Aussie Woolshed has dorms of varying sizes, plus private rooms both with and without ensuite bathrooms. A female-only dorm option is also available. The entire place is like a series of cabin-like buildings which surround a beautiful outdoor courtyard and garden area, complete with hammocks, picnic tables, ponds, local wildlife and birds, and more. Some of the buildings also have nice balconies for relaxing and admiring the greenery. The common areas are cozy and nice, featuring an all-wooden common area and a fully stocked kitchen for those wishing to self-cater. They also have a long list of other standard amenities such as Wi-Fi, laundry services, etc.

Guest reviews are consistently positive. Many guests claim that this is the best hostel they have ever visited. They also receive high marks for cleanliness and the very friendly staff.
