Humorously Traveling

Joel Ward is in France, and we’re jealous. In July he left his home behind for a year-long (or longer) trip around the world. He claims to be an introverted attention whore, so you can appease him by following his worldly adventures at freedoniapost.com where he writes about his travels in a very entertaining and humorous manner. Most recently he was in Paris, and is now branching out to the surrounding countryside. He plans to visit Asia in the fall. Like many travelers we’ve met, he’s keeping things flexible. (By now you should be noticing that trend.)

Stretch Yourself

Nick Laborde is a self proclaimed “crappy employee”. On top of the fact that he doesn’t like to follow rules, he will soon depart on a year long trip around the world. He currently writes about life, works, and his upcoming travel plans at www.stretchd.com. When we asked Nick about his specific travel plans, he said,

I’m not going to plan out my itinerary too much, I just want to go with the flow.

In our opinion, that’s the way to do it. (As we’ve said before, staying flexible is rule number four.)

Travel: Rehab for the Employed

Ryan and Jen had it made. They had the life that many dream of: MBA’s from top schools, difficult to obtain jobs with an elite company, life in an exciting city, and an upcoming wedding. They thought the competitive nature of their job and their long hours at work were leading them to a better life, and any friends they had that didn‘t agree were just plain wrong.

Over time we started to notice that our non-consulting friends seemed to be quite happy people despite their lack of premier airline status. This seemed strange.

But soon Ryan and Jen came to the realization that many of us have had: there’s got to be more to life!
