Here’s some of the best articles from around the travel community in the last week. All of them are very inspirational and worth reading.

Photo Friday: Vietnam

Friday, December 10th, 2010

In 2006, we spent a month in Vietnam. We crossed the border from China in the north near Sapa, where we spent an amazing few days amongst the Hmong people and their beautifully terraced rice fields. Next we ventured down to Hanoi, and then spent a few days on a boat in the Halong Bay. Afterwards we made our way south, but for now we have plenty of photos to show of Northern Vietnam. If you find yourself wandering around Southeast Asia, don’t miss this amazing country, especially Sapa (sometimes spelled “Sa Pa”) and the surrounding areas. (more…)

Jack and Jill Travel the World

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

Married couple Jack and Jill (what perfect names!) will soon be leaving on an around the world journey. We virtually sat down with them and had an electronic conversation about trip planning and budgeting. Tentatively, they are planning to leave in April, but that’s all up in the air right now. Our gut feeling is that they will leave soon, especially since we can all track the progress of their financial savings on their blog, wherespoople.com. After all, they’ve been planning this trip for 4 years! (more…)

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

Who likes trivia? I know I do. From this point forward, every Tuesday we’ll have a travel related trivia question for you. Whoever knows the correct answer wins a huge amount of respect and admiration!

Below is our first question. We’re going to do this in the form of a poll so that you can see everyone else’s answers. Next week we’ll announce the correct answer and a new question, too. (more…)

Where Is Jenny?

Monday, November 29th, 2010

Jenny Leonard is a self-proclaimed Location Independent Minimalist, and a skateboarder, too. After the holidays and with the start of the new year, she’ll leave home to travel indefinitely, “Or until the money runs out”, she says. She’ll be blogging at WhereIsJenny.com so that the rest of us can follow her adventure. Naturally, I had a few questions for her before her trip. A trip like this (“lifestyle change” is a better description) takes some time to plan and organize, and we like to find out how others prepare so that we can all benefit for our own trips. (more…)

Friday, August 20th, 2010

We’ve recently written about various travelers who have become jaded by the status quo of working a nine-to-five job. If you’ve noticed the trend, don’t worry: we’re trying to give you some inspiration to travel, after all. Not surprisingly, Stephanie Yoder falls into this category.
