Don't confuse Dominica with the other Caribbean island, the Dominican Republic. Dominica is referred to as "The Nature Island of the Caribbean" because of its spectacular, lush, and varied flora and fauna. Wildlife on the island are protected by an extensive natural park system. Dominica is the most mountainous island in the Lesser Antilles and its volcanic peaks are cones of lava craters and include Boiling Lake, the second-largest, thermally active lake in the world.

Emerald Pool: A short walk from the road, this pool is popular with cruisers. You can swim but it's a little cool.
Trafalgar Falls: Twin waterfalls a short drive from Roseau.
Ti Tou Gorge: A beautiful spot at the start of the hike to "Boiling Lake".
