At the heart of Berber country, on a plateau at the foot of the High Atlas, Skoura is a big grove of 120 km2 along the Wadi Boujina about 40 km from Ouarzazate. Its position, between the Atlas and its foothills, provides a temperate climate of the desert. On the fringes of the palm and eccentric urban Auberge Bassatine Skoura welcomes you in a inviting and peaceful all over the year.

Ait Ben Haddou
Near the town of Ouarzazate is the old kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Ait Ben Haddou is built into the rocky mountain side where it hangs precariously. When you wander through the old town you really do feel like you've traveled back in time or perhaps you've stepped onto the set of a movie. You actually have because this kasbah is well known as a filming sport for Gladiator among other movies. There are about thirty people who still live in the kasbah, and there's a small town outside that offers hotels and restaurants. Most tour groups glide in and out of town in a few hours, but if you're traveling on your own and want a magical experience spend at least a night here. The town essentially shuts down at night, but you can wander to several nearby kasbahs the following day.
