Switzerland Tourist Information
Most people who travel to Switzerland go there to see the Alps. They're dramatic, they're beautiful, and they're not like anywhere else on earth. The highest peak in Switzerland is Dufourspitze, which stands 4,634 meters high. If you travel to Switzerland in the winter, it has some of the best skiing and winter sports in the world. If you're not a winter sport enthusiast, you can head here in the summer months and enjoy some wonderful hiking or hope from charming village to village.
While the Alps are easily the biggest draw to Switzerland, there are definitely some less famous attractions. Switzerland has some absolutely beautiful lakes, as well as rolling hills and flat plains.
Whenever you visit, it's important to realize that Switzerland can be an expensive destination. Come prepared, and accept that it will cost you something, but enjoy it none the less.

Discount Transportation Passes
There are many ways to get discounts on transportation tickets in Switzerland. You can, and definitely should take advantage of some of the discount opportunities available. There's a "Half-Fare Card" you can purchase which will save you 50% on all national trains and buses. Make sure you push the 1/2 button when you purchase a ticket. This indicates you have the Half Fare Card, which you should already have in your possession. The conductor is likely to check for the card, so no fudging. A one month Half Fare Card costs about CHF99, while the annual card costs around CHF165.
Another option is to buy a Swisspas, which gives you access to national buses and trans in addition to privately operated boats, cable cars and ski lifts. These are much more expensive, with a four day pass costing about CHF 260.
All passes can be bought in any train station ticket office.
