Situated in a quiet location of Croydon, away from the busy hubbub of London streets and close to Gatwick Airport and London Victoria as well, this cheap London hotel is about 20 minutes from either point by British Rail. A bus journey from the stop down the road on route 466 will take you direct to East Croydon Station in 10 minutes and you can be in the heart of London within a maximum of 50 minutes including the waiting times at the stop as well as the 5 minute walk to the bus stop

We have a total of 28 rooms with a total of 49 beds at the Hayesthorpe Hotel, all well appointed and having full en-suite facilities, with the majority of them being twin bedded, 3 triples, 4 families and 6 singles. Some of the rooms enjoy superb garden views.
The Deluxe Suite has its very own conservatory lounge, overlooking the spacious garden.
We have discontinued our Restaurant for evening meals, simply because there are tons of restaurants just a short walk from the hotel, however if you want to eat in, you just have to inquire with the reception, where we will furnish you with Menus of Restaurants that will deliver your choice of Pizza, Chinese, Indian and even Kebabs.
We will even provide the cutlery…

Leave the airport going North on M23 towards London. Continue on M23 across M25 following the signs towards Croydon. M23 becomes A23. Continue on A23 through Coulsdon still following the signs for Croydon. At the Tesco superstore in Purley goes straight across the intersection onto the Brighton Rd (A235). following the signs towards South Croydon. Go 1.4 Miles. After passing the second petrol station on the left side of the road (TOTAL), take the second turning on the left which is St. Augustines Avenue. Go up the hill 0.2 Miles. Hayesthorpe Hotel is on the right after the bend.
From M25:
Leave M25 at exit 7 and follow A23 and the signs towards Croydon. Continue on A23 through Coulsdon still following the signs for Croydon. At the Tesco superstore in Purley, go straight across the intersection onto the Brighton Rd (A235) following the signs towards South Croydon. Go 1.4 Miles. After passing two petrol stations on the left, the second turning on the left is St. Augustines Avenue. Go up the hill 0.2 Miles. Hayesthorpe Hotel is on the right. If following the A22 carries on through Kenley until the Tesco superstore in Purley, turn right onto the Brighton Rd (A235) following the signs towards South Croydon then --- (as above in italics)
From Central London:
Take A23 to Croydon.Go South following signs to Gatwick Airport. You will go past the Wing Yip (chinese supermarket), a Toyota car showroom and a Ford showroom (Dees of Croydon) - all on your right hand side and when you get to Croydon Airport (no longer in operation) on the Purley Way, turn left at the Hilton Hotel into Waddon Way. At the next roundabout (it's a mini roundabout), turn right into Pampisford Rd. After around 250 metres, take the first left into St. Augustines Avenue. The Hayesthorpe Hotel is on the left after bend some 200 yards on.

Disembark at East Croydon Train Station, cross the Tram Station and Bus Station and cross the road to arrive at the relevant bus stop. Take bus route 466 going towards Purley and request the driver to indicate the Red Deer (it's a pub) stop for you. Cross the road and retrace a few yards in the opposite direction from where you were heading on the bus - or you may disembark at the South Croydon Bus Garage, carry on up the road for a few yards then cross the road at the pelican crossing. Continue up for about 30 metres and turn right. St. Augustines Avenue is just after the Londis grocery (before it if heading from the bus garage). Carry on along the St. Augustines Avenue and the hotel is on the right after the bend - some 200 yards on.
Alternatively, if you happen to take bus route 455, disembark at the St. Giles (school) stop and St. Augustines Avenue is right opposite it. The Hayesthorpe Hotel is on the left after the bend - some 200 yards on.
Sanderstead Station (British Rail) is about 0.5 miles from the hotel; however there are no buses that come down towards the Brighton Road. If you are coming from London, cross the pedestrian flyover bridge to come to the other side and come out to the Sanderstead Road where you will turn right. Carry on downhill to come to the Brighton Road - you will see the Red Deer Pub on your left - cross the road to come to St. Augustines Avenue which is just after the Londis grocery. Carry on along the St. Augustines Avenue and the hotel is on the right after the bend - some 200 yards on.
