From Termini station:
Alessandro Downtown Hostel is located within a 5 minute walking distance from Termini train station. It's very easy to reach the hostel:
1. Exit Termini Station by Track No.22 (with the train tracks at your back, track No.22 is on the left hand side of the station).
2. Make a left on Via Giolitti, and then take your second right down Via C.Cattaneo.
3. Continue down Via Catttaneo, until you reach #23 (will be on the left hand side of the street).
From Fiumicino Airport (Leonardo da Vinci):
* Follow the signs for 'Ai Treni' to the platform, buy a ticket for the non-stop train to Termini (Leonardo Express). You can purchase from the ticket window, vending machines, or tobacco store near the platform. Leonardo Express leaves every 30 minutes.
Duration: about 30 minutes
One way ticket: 11 Euros (Feb’09)
* A slightly cheaper (but slower) option is to take local train that has the final destination of either Orte or Fara Sabina. It will stop at a few small local stations heading into Rome, but it does not stop at Termini Train Station. You need to get off at Tiburtina station (about the 8th stop), and then follow the directions “from Tiburtina” and then “from Termini”. Trains leave approximately every 15-30 minutes.
Duration: about 1hr-1.5hrs
One way ticket: 5.5Euros + 1 Euro metro ticket from Tiburtina (Feb’09)
IMPORTANT when you take train:
Don't forget to validate your ticket with the little orange or yellow boxes before you get on the train!
* If you take a taxi, it is highly recommended to take it from official airport taxi stand, not private ones.
Duration: about 30-40 minutes (depends on traffic situation)
Fee: 40-45 Euros (Feb’09)
From Ciampino Airport (Usually RyanAir and Easyjet):
* The easiest way to reach city centre from Ciampino is to take a shuttle bus which departs after every flight.
We recommend Terravision service:
Duration: about 45 minutes
One way ticket: 8 Euros (Feb’09)
Ciampino airport transfers
* The blue Cotral Bus service connects Ciampino Airport to the Anagnina metro (underground) station and costs approximately. Tickets can be purchased at the vending machines located at the bus stop or inside the airport. Once you arrive at Anagnina, buy a metro ticket and get off at the Termini stop (about the 15th stop). Follow the directions “From Termini”
Duration: about 1hr-1.5hrs
One way ticket: 1.50 Euros + 1 Euro metro ticket from Anagnina (Feb’09)
* If you take a taxi, it is highly recommended to take it from airport taxi stand, not private ones.
Duration: about 30-40 minutes (depends on traffic situation)
Fee: 35-40 Euros (Feb’09)
From Tiburtina Train Station:
* Follow the signs for the Metro (Underground). Take Linea B (Line B) in the direction of Laurentina and get off at Termini station (the 4th stop). Then follow the directions “From Termini”. Metro tickets can be bought from either vending machines or tobacco stores located inside the train station. The Metro runs approximately every 5 - 15 minutes, depending on the time of day.
Duration: About 10 minutes.
One Metro ticket: 1 Euro (Feb’09)
From the GRA (Grande Raccordo Anulare) Alessandro Downtown:
* Exit at Tiburtina. Keep going straight until you reach Viale Regina Margherita; turn right. Go straight until you reach Viale dell'Università and turn left. Follow this street until it ends at Via Castro Pretorio. Continue straight on Via Castro Pretorio. Turn left on Via Marsala and follow Via Marsala through the first right of the underpass. After the underpass, turn right on Via G. Giolitti, then left on Via Rattazzi. Turn right on Via Principe Amedeo and then take your first right onto Via Carlo Cattaneo. N° 23 will be on your right hand side.
From the BUS ABOUT Drop-Off Point:
From Via Cassia, take bus #32 direction Ottaviano and get off at Piazza Risorgimento. Walk down Via Ottaviano to the Line A Metro Stop (Station: Ottaviano). Take the Metro in the direction of Anagnina and get off at Termini. Follow the directions above from Termini Station.
