Opened recently by two twenty-something Americans with a flair for hospitality and a passion for travel, Somnio offers the experience of a full service hotel at hostel prices. The name Somnio means to dream in Latin or, by some definitions, to imagine foolishly. Frustrated by the stress of finding clean, safe, quality lodging, two sisters from Chicago dreamed of a solution to leave young travelers with more time and energy to spend enjoying everything the great travel destinations of the world have to offer. After working in the buttoned-up world of banking and sneaking in travel opportunities whenever possible, they smashed their piggy banks and headed to Spain to put their travel expertise to use.

We are very centrally located, two blocks from Plaza Catalunya/Las Ramblas. Most major sites are within short walking distance, but we are also located nearby three metro stations. There are a lot of great bars, restaurants, and shops in our neighborhood.
From the airport El Prat - You can catch the blue Aerobus right outside the arrival terminals. The ride is approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the last stop, Plaça Catalunya. You will be right outside of the department store El Corte Ingles. With the store to your right, walk up Passeig de Gracia to the second street, Carrer de la Diputació. Turn left, and walk across Rambla Catalunya to Somnio Hostel at Carrer de la Diputació 251, on your right side. It's just past the Banesto bank. There is no large sign outside, as we are on the second floor. The door buzzer says "SOMNIO". A taxi from the airport will cost approximately 25 euros.
Girona - Ryan Air has buses from the Girona Airport to Estació Nord in Barcelona. From there, catch the metro from the stop Arc de Triomph to Plaça Catalunya.
From the train station Estació Sants - Take the Green L3 line to Plaça Catalunya. Exit to "Rambla Catalunya" and walk away from the Plaça up Rambla Catalunya to the second street, Carrer de la Diputació. Turn left, and Somnio Hostel will be on your right side at Carrer de la Diputació 251. It's just past the Banesto bank. There is no large sign outside, as we are on the second floor. The door buzzer says "SOMNIO".
Estació de Franca - Take the Yellow L3 line to Passeig de Gracia. Exit at Carrer de la Diputació. With Passeig de Gracia on your right, turn left. From the port - Walk to the large column shaped monument at bottom of Las Ramblas. Turn up Las Ramblas away from the water. Take the Green L3 metro line at Drassanes to Plaça Catalunya. Exit to Rambla Catalunya and walk away from the Plaça up Rambla Catalunya to the second street, Carrer de la Diputació.
