Dar Mellah is available for short or long term let for two people on a self catering basis. Two large Bunkettes are available in the saloon that are easily converted into a 3rd/4th beds for guests.
The house Manager Sandra is on hand to escort you to Dar Mellah on arrival, to book taxis from anywhere in Morocco and give advice on restaurants and excursions throughout your stay.
Being within the heart of the Medina, Dar Mellah we’re ideally located as a base to explore the many shops, markets, restaurants and cafés on offer. If you’d rather cook for yourself, you can find all sorts of fresh produce, meat, fish, and spices just a two minute walk away.
It is only a five minute walk from the apartment to the beach. Essaouira beach is famous for its windsurfing, surfing and kite-boarding. Horse and camel riding is also on offer as is the opportunity to hire quad bikes. However if this is too energetic, then you could just soak up the sun on the mile after mile of beautiful beach. Cafes and bars are sprinkled along the beach and sun beds can be hired in a variety of spots.
If the beach isn’t relaxing enough, though, try the local Hammam Babst, (a two minute walk away) that was used by Orson Wells for his 1952 film Othello. Here you can experience a traditional Moroccan Hammam with a traditional steam, massage and rub down. An experience you will never forget.
Bike and Car hire is available from Bab Marrakech, and excursions can be arranged to visit the local olive oil co-operative at Tidzi or the Sunday market at Hedra.
The easiest way to find the apartment is to get the Supratours bus service to Essaouira and our house manager Sandra can meet you when you arrive. Just send her a text or call her on the number you’ll be provided with following your booking with HostelBookers. Let her know what time you will be arriving and she will meet you as you get off your Supatours bus.
Alternatively make your way to Bab Doukkala (NE entrance into the medina). Walk about 150 metres until you see the sign for 'Pharmacy principal' and turn right down Rue Boutouil with the pharmacy on your right. Continue down street about 50 metres and you will find the apartment on the right; it has a blue door with number 3 on. Go up the first flight of stairs and the apartment is on your right.
