In an absolutely beautiful setting the Barcelona Central Garden Hostel is in a wonderful nineteenth century building. Despite its old world charm, the rooms themselves are quite large and the windows bring in plenty of natural light. There are smaller rooms available as well for those on a particularly tight budget. There's a shared shower and toilet facilities, and a comfortable common area where you can relax and enjoy access to free internet. There's also a fully equipped kitchen and dining room that are immediately adjacent to the lovely outdoor garden terrace. It truly is a beautiful setting that will make you forget you're in a city.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and most are travelers themselves. They can help you with any needs you may have and can point you in the right direction for good restaurants, bars and clubs. The hotel hosts many social nights and informal dinners that allow travelers to get to know each other and swap stories and advice. The staff can also help you coordinate any tours or activities you might be interested in during your time in Barcelona.
The hostel is not a party hostel and is not designed to be such. For this reason they do not accept large groups. Any guests who are over the age of forty must reserve a private room or an entire shared room. The budget rooms are smaller, simple rooms intended for young travelers more concerned with price than comfort. If this is a concern for you it is recommended you upgrade to a more expensive room.
