The Somnio Concept

History
Duo is the second hostel in the Somnio Hostels family. The name Duo means two in Latin but also refers to the pair of sisters who founded Somnio Hostels with a dream of eliminating the hassle of finding clean, safe, quality lodging leaving young travelers with more time and to spend enjoying everything the great travel destinations of the world have to offer.
Why waste another minute sorting through hundreds of hostel reviews or hauling bags hostel to hostel when there are breathtaking views to stumble upon and local watering holes to enjoy? The concept of well-branded, standard quality hostels is now a reality.
Somnio Hostels now owns two properties in Barcelona – its flagship hostel and the brand new Duo Hostel.
Duo by Somnio Hostels is in the heart of Barcelona's famous L'Eixample District, nestled between two of the city's famous and most important streets: Rambla Catalunya and Passeig de Gràcia. Duo is just down the block from Antoni Gaudí's La Pedrera and a fifteen minute walk from the Sagrada Familia Basilica. The closest metro stops are Passeig de Gràcia and Diagonal and we are a very quick metro ride or fifteen minute walk from Plaça Catalunya and Las Ramblas.
From the airport
El Prat – Catch the blue Aerobus right outside the arrival Terminals 1 and 2. Tickets cost €5.30 for a single and €9.15 for roundtrip. The ride is approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the last stop, Plaça Catalunya. You will be right outside of the department store El Corte Ingles. With the store to your right, walk up Passeig de Gràcia seven blocks to Carrer del Rosselló. Turn left, and walk to Duo at Rosselló 220, on your left side.
Additionally, you can take the Green L3 metro line from Plaça Catalunya in the direction Trinitat Nova to the Diagonal stop. Exit at Rambla Catalunya.
A taxi from the airport will cost approximately 25-30 euros.
Girona – There are buses to and from the Girona Airport at Estació Nord (directions below).
Reus - There are buses to and from the Reus airport at Estacio Sants (directions below). .
From the train/bus stations
Estació Sants or Plaça Catalunya – Take the Green L3 line in the direction of Trinitat Nova to Diagonal. Exit to Rambla Catalunya.
Estació de Franca – Take the Yellow L4 line to Passeig de Gracia. Exit at Sortida Aragó. After exiting, walk up Passeig de Gràcia (towards the hills) 4 blocks to Carrer del Rosselló. Turn left on Rosselló, and walk to the end of the block. Duo is on the left at Rosselló 220.
Estació Nord - Catch the Red L1 line metro from the stop Arc de Triomph to Plaça Catalunya. Transfer to the Green L3 line in the direction of Trinitat Nova to Diagonal. Exit to Rambla Catalunya.
