Flooding Situation Update:the Smile Society
Although Thailand has been facing a bad flooding disaster in parts of Bangkok, the Smile Society has not been affected. The hostel is located in a safe area in the downtown parts of the city and the building is well above sea level. All connections to the neighborhood including the Airport Rail link, Skytrain and the subway continue to run normally. You can also be assured that the main attractions in the city such as the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho and others continue to be open and operate normal hours. Connections between our hostel and the sights are still in tact. You can also find good connections to the northern and southern parts of the country if you are hoping to visit the beaches or the mountains.
The government continues to focus its efforts towards releasing the watr from the flooding areas and if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
The Smile Society is a newly opened boutique hostel in the center of Bangkok. It sits along Silom Road and is convenient to most places you could want to visit throughout the city.
All of the hostels rooms are equipped with air conditioning and they are very clean and comfortable. All of the facilities are new. There's a 24 hr a day check in, but please provide notification of arrival time. The hostel provides access to wifi, internet, computers, laundry, luggage storage, and commons rooms. It's a quaint eco friendly facility that enjoys visits from vacation and business travelers alike.

Smile Society is conveniently located in Silom Road (Silom Soi 6), across from the Bangkok Bank Head Office, and only 10 meters from Silom Road. It's only a 5 minute walk from the BTS Sky train. The closest station is the Saladaeng Station. There area also bus stops just outside the hostel's door.
Public transportation is very close to the Smile Society. There are also many sights close by including Lumpini Park, Lumpini Thai Boxing, and the night market. There's also plenty of the shopping with the MBK Hall Center not far away. There's also a great weekend market which you can reach by skytrain.
There are two ways to reach the hostel from the airport. The most popular option is to take the Airport Rail Train and then connect to the SkyTrain. This option will cost you 70 baht per person. It only runs between six and midnight though. If you take the Airport Rail Link, get off at the Phayathai Station. Walk to the Skytrain's Phaya Thai station and get tickets for four stations. Take the train until the Sala Daeng station. From there you can walk to Silom Road. Walk toward the Citibank and the hostel is next to the Japanese Restaurant.
The easier, but more expensive option is to take a taxi. Have the driver drop you off at Silom Road, Silom Soi 6 (Lane 6).
