This is a beautiful Colonial hostel which offers high standard accommodation at affordable rates in the heart of Barra, the safest area of Salvador da Bahia. Nestled in a quaint tree lined residential street right next to one of Salvador’s most fashionable squares Jardim Brasil (Garden of Brazil) which boasts some of the best restaurants and music bars in the area.
A five minute stroll from the Hostel and you will find yourself on the beautiful Porto da Barra beach with its own Naval fort or the Farol da Barra beach beneath its ancient Light House (First Light House in South America) where you can play in the warm Atlantic surf.
Access to the old Historical City of Pelourinho is 10 min by taxi or 15 min bus ride away R$2.40

‘Barra Guest House’ is located in the heart of Barra, Salvador. We are one minute walk to the best bars and restaurants; seven minutes walk to best beaches and four minutes walk to the Shopping Center. If you take a taxi in ten minutes you will be at the Historical centre.
From Airport head for Barra:
Take the bus that is in front of the Airport ‘Praça da Sé’. Ask the driver to drop you in front of Barra Center - in the sea front. Once you are there, you come back a few meters where there is an ice cream shop. Take that street and go ahead till you find the HSBC bank. That is our street. Go down the street till you find the second public telephone. We are nearly in front of it. The guest house has a tall wall looking like little bricks and tiles with the address written on it.
Please note that there is no name on the front side of the Guest House. For more information please give a call.
If you decide to take a taxi, make sure you take from a company called Coomtas. Ask first if he knows where our Guesthouse is and if the driver does not know take another one.
The best tip I can give you is to take a transfer that Barra Guest House can provide. In this case, a driver will pick you up at the arrivals. For this service, please contact us.
We are looking forward to meeting you.
