Koh Phi Phi is a popular destination with backpackers and budget travelers. The accommodation is more expensive than northern Thailand and the quality can be a bit rough. The cheapest options tend to be hostels and bungalows, and the facilities are usually very basic. Many places on the beach offer poorly built bungalows that provide limited security. Most of the budget accommodation options are found in Tonsai Village. You'll pay more for places that are close to the beach even though the quality is no better. If you're on a really tight budget, or if everything else is full, then some places also rent tents.
Prices go up dramatically during the peak season. You can expect to pay about twice as much for a room as you would during the low season. You will also have a wider selection of places if you come to town right before the Full Moon Party, when most people head to Koh Phangan. Just after the party, Koh Phi Phi fills up again with people arriving from Koh Phangan.
Koh Phi Phi has long been a beautiful and fun place to visit, but the large tourist crowds have created a more commercialized feel. It's an archipelago that is made up of six islands. There is a vibrant nightlife scene, but there are also quiet areas if you want a more peaceful retreat away from the crowds.

Blanco Beach Bar is famous for being one of the best party hostels on Koh Phi Phi. If you've come to the island to party late into the night, then this is the place to stay. If you're planning to sleep at night, then find somewhere else. The facilities themselves are a bit rough but they have added some new rooms that are cleaner and more comfortable. The hostel does have the appeal of being right on the beach and you're sure to make a few friends while you're here. Because the hostel is directly on the beach, sand can gather in the rooms. Many guests also complain about the bathrooms.
The hostel has a bar that stays active late into the night. There always seems to be something going on. They also offer the Blanco Boat Party to Maya Bay every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday and guests rave about these parties.
If you want to be in the middle of the action on the most popular party beach in Koh Phi Phi, then this is the place to stay. Located on Loh Dalum Bay, the hostel is relatively affordable, social, and fun.

It's about a ten minute walk from the pier and there always seems to be something going on. The hostel is located near Loh Dalum Bay, which is famous for it's parties and beach clubs. It's also right on the beach, so the sand seems to gather everywhere. The staff are both locals and westerners and there's an on-site security guard. Every room has air conditioning, hot showers, free wi-fi, and security lockers.
The hostel has an on-site travel agency that can help you arrange sightseeing tours, snorkeling trips, or transportation such as ferry or bus tickets.
Like the other hostels in the area, the accommodation itself can be a bit rough, but ff you want to be on the beach and want to meet other travelers looking to have a good time then this is a good option. The ChillOut Bar is where many guests gather and enjoy drinks. Every night there is a fireshow and there's a dance floor and music nightly. It can get a bit loud so don't expect to go to bed early. Between the Blanco Beach Bar and the ChillOut Bar, there's always something going on. Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday they also host the island's cheapest booze cruise.
There are private twin rooms and four or ten bed co-ed dorms available.
