Puerto Jimenez, on the gulf of the Osa peninsula, is the primary gateway of Corcovado National Park and the surrounding jungle of the Osa Peninsula. The allure of this area is the mostly untouched tropical rainforest of the park, the black sand beaches without another living soul to be found, and the thrill of sleeping amongst the trees and all of the exotic creatures that live within them.
Puerto Jimenez, as a town, offers a surprising number of amenities, dining options, and bars for a relatively remote place. This is due to its position on the bay with good highway access, as well as being the "last frontier" before entering the remote and untouched jungle.
