The Museum of Arkhangai Aimag

By backpackguru on Nov 5, 2011
The Museum of Arkhangai Aimag is located in a temple complex for Zayain Gegeenii Süm. It is actually a surprisingly good museum that shows all aspects of traditional Mongolian life. There are many things on exhibit ranging from traditional costumes to tools, musical instruments, and a model ger. The facility that houses the museum was originally built in 1586 and later expanded to hold over 1000 monks. Don't miss the area around back that features local artwork. It's fascinating to see.
