This hostel centers around a huge rock climbing wall which can be viewed from the lounge area. It's quite a sight to see! And don't worry, if you're not into rock climbing, there's plenty of other great reasons to stay at this centrally located, clean, modern, secure, and friendly hostel.

It's no surprise given everything that they have to offer, as well as a super-friendly and helpful staff which will cater to your every need and help plan your time in Rotarua. They also have a great location in town.

The communal kitchen is terrific and offers plenty of space, while the common areas are comfortable, cozy, and social. They also have internet, and outdoor area, laundry, and more.

Rotarua Central Backackers receives great reviews across the board for everything. The hostel offers private rooms and dorm beds, none of which are bunk beds - all are nice, quality mattresses. They also have a nice communal kitchen which makes for a nice place to socialize. The staff is noted to be very friendly, giving unbiased tourism information about things to do and see in the area.
Their location is perfect, right near the center of town on the edge of the Government Gardens park area. They also offer Wi-Fi, games, free parking, a hot tub, BBQ, and more. The heat is said to be very good, too, which is something that other hostels in the area seem to be missing in the winter.

With private rooms and dorms available at a range of prices, there is something for everyone. They have an indoor and outdoor pool, hot tub, a gorgeous communal kitchen, parking, laundry, an onsite restaurant and bar, game room with a pool table and TV, and keycard access. It's like staying in a fancy hotel!
Guest reviewers claim that it is clean and comfortable, and like the fact that rooms do not have bunks, but instead have real beds. And they say the pools are nice too.
It's a bit outside of the main part of town, but not too far.
