The countries of North America offer plenty of terrific sights and activities to keep travelers busy. These countries tend to be large and diverse, and somewhat costly compared to other nations. The U.S., Canada, and Mexico are all very large countries with not just a diverse set of activities and destinations, but travel costs as well. Some of the cities can be affordable, while others are very expensive. The Rockies cut through the western half of North America for thousands of miles, and offer easy access to these world-famous and gorgeous mountains. With snow much of the year, it's no surprise that skiing and snowboarding are popular here. From Colorado all the way up to Jasper National Park in Canada, ski resorts can be found everywhere. Also, the eastern mountain ranges offer skiing even though the mountains are not as dramatic. And prices tend to be a little less, too.

Water Sports

The coastal areas of the North American countries is what often what draws visitors to this region. Both the east and west coasts of Mexico is an attraction for millions of visitors every year. They abound with beaches and other water activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, fishing, and sailing, not to mention ancient ruins in a few spots. The beaches of the U.S. are also visited by millions of tourists every year, and in Florida many of the beaches can be enjoyed year-round. Surfing and nightlife are also popular with tourists. It's not hard to find someone to take you out into the water - whether it's for a romantic dinner cruise or an adventure with the creatures under the sea.

Food and Cuisine

The cities and the rural areas of North America are home to world class culinary treats. The cities of New York, Quebec City, Washington D.C., Chicago, Seattle, and Victoria, just to name a few, have multiple restaurants that are world famous. But if you're on a budget, don't worry, there are plenty of hole-in-the-wall places with exquisite options as well. Try out a food tour to hop through a variety of restaurants in one day to taste it all. Or perhaps a bar crawl is more your style?
