The Best Hostels in Lausanne for Backpackers, Families, and Couples
Situated on Lake Geneva, Lausanne offers a great old town surrounded by hills. The Olympic Museum is here, as are plenty of other old cathedrals, museums, and more.
The hostels and hotels listed below are some of the only options in town, unfortunately. They are large and offer plenty of amenities for every type of traveler, from families to couples to backpackers. They are all different in their own atmosphere, style, and vibe, so make your decision carefully. Also, keep in mind that free transportation passes come with bookings of almost all hostels and hotels in the city, so location is not as important because the public transportation here is great.

An affordable hotel in the center of Lausanne
The Crystal is an affordable hotel with a very comfortable feel, a great location, and some very nice views overlooking the city. They offer a free breakfast, free internet, and all of the normal hotel amenities that one would expect such as TVs and nice, clean ensuite bathrooms. An onsite restaurant and bar can provide meals, but the hotel is only steps from many others. Since they are in town, it is only a short walk to everything Lausanne has to offer such as the old churches, the Palais de Beaulieu, the Olympic Museum, and more.
It's more expensive than a hostel, but worth the extra cost if you're looking for more.
