Stunning Costa Rica Waterfalls and Hikes

Costa Rica is famous for beaches, rainforests, and those adorable little smiling sloths. But have you thought about Costa Rica’s waterfalls? As a tropical country, Costa Rica sees a lot of rain–about 100 inches per year. In the mountainous regions (hint: where the rivers start) that can jump to 25 feet a year in some places! All that water makes for plenty of crystal clear rivers and some pretty impressive waterfalls.

Cheap & Fun Family Vacation Ideas in Australia That Your Kids Will Love

So, you’re traveling to Australia! Lucky you, and your family! Australia is a land of never-ending fun and excitement and has a lot to offer to kids, teens, and adults, too. However, if this is your first time vacationing with children, it can be a little tricky to entertain them and provide the youngsters with fun activities and experiences. Luckily, here’s a little guide that will show you some of the best cheap and fun family vacation ideas.

What to Pack for a Camping Trip with a Toddler

Planning a weekend camping trip with a young child (or more than one) can be a real challenge, as we know. So when we set out to take a multiple-month road trip across the country, our tripathalas (the region of the brain devoted to travel) went into overdrive for several weeks. How can we possibly do this? We can’t just take a tent and some toys! We actually have to keep another human being alive!

Chicago For Kids

The first stop on our summer road trip was Chicago, and it didn’t disappoint. Since we were traveling with our three year old daughter, we wanted to make sure that we provided plenty of entertainment for her instead of just dragging her around to the major sights that most grown-ups would want to visit.

Our Summer Road Trip: 2017

This summer, we’re headed west on a road trip through the U.S. and Canada. As the founders of BudgetYourTrip.com, our true passion lies in travel, but it’s been awhile since we’ve been able to “get out there.” Beginning in June, for three months we’ll hit the road on a family camping trip visiting the big cities, national parks, and everything in between. And yes, we’re taking our 3-year-old daughter with us.

Choosing a South African Safari

As summer approaches, discussions of potential family vacation destinations arise. Without a doubt, an African safari is on your wish list. Elephants, leopard, rhino; seeing them in the wild against a backdrop of bushveld as the sun sinks is incomparable. A safari is also the perfect multigenerational holiday; we’re never too young or too old to enjoy watching wildlife in its habitat. A safari is exciting, fun, bonding, and a fascinating natural history lesson every day. It will become the best trip your family has ever taken.

Disney World, Cheap

Yes, it’s true. Disney World can be done on a tight budget. Luckily for us, we live within driving distance of Orlando. It’s a long drive, granted, but doable for us. We realize not everyone is geographically close, but driving may be a lot cheaper than flying. Depending on the size of your family and your willingness to spend the night at a cheap hotel along the way, you could save hundreds if not over a thousand dollars by driving. Cheap hotel rooms can be found all along the interstate, and the price of gas for a few days is probably cheaper than a plane ticket.
