Grenada is an island country in the Caribbean Sea. Grenada is also the largest island of the country, but there are six smaller islands as well. The country is in the southeastern Caribbean Sea at the southern end of the Grenadines.
Grenada is famous for its spice production, which includes nutmeg and mace. These exports have given Grenada the title as the "Island of Spices."
An interesting place to visit while you're in Grenada is the Belmont Estate, which is in St Patrick about an hour from St George. The drive itself to get there is quite nice and scenic. the estate is a 17th century plantation that still maintains some of the daily activities from that time. It's a unique experience to have and you can see, or even participate in things such as organic farming of cocoa. They currently grow organic cocoa on the plantation and are a member of the Grenada Organic Cocoa Farmers Cooperative Society. You can taste some of the products at the restaurant on the grounds. Reservations are suggested and the restaurant is not open on weekends.
