If you have the unique opportunity to be in Nauakchott, you should definitely buy a couple of souvenirs. Some of the most popular items throughout the city are silver jewelery, rugs made from camel wool, and nomadic items such as camel saddles or wooden chests. You can buy many items in hotels or tourist sites like museums and souvenir shops. Alternatively you can head to the March Capitale and Marche Sixieme to have a more real and authentic experience. There's also a camel market that is definitely worth a visit.
