Sidsmums offers guests free Wi-Fi and security lockers, as well as free parking, meaning that during your stay, you will be lacking for nothing.

You are situated in a small village just outside of Carcassonne, just a 1 Euro bus ride away, meaning you can easily access Carcassonne, but have the views of some wonderful countryside scenery. If you want to explore the local area, the owners provide you with free bikes.

Despite its central location (just a kilometer's walk from the station, and close to the historic center), this hostel does not feel as if it's in the middle of a city, with its two beautiful gardens and 'hidden-away' feel. Set in a 19th Century stone mansion, it retains many of its former features, and includes five quaintly-furnished guest houses across three stories. Guests cite comfortable beds, as well as the excellent breakfast provided by host Joel (willing to cater for various dietary requirements) as highlights. He will happily speak French with you if you want to practice, but is also comfortable in either English or Spanish.

This hostel is in a small village just 10 kilometers from Carcassonne itself, providing the opportunity to experience rural France at its finest. For short stays, this would be best for travelers with their own transport, but transfers are offered for stays of three nights or more. With a large garden and a swimming pool available when weather is warmer, this is the perfect place to relax away from the stresses of daily life. The owners, Julie and Malcolm, are accommodating and passionate hosts, happy to cook meals for you (which can be enjoyed on a beautiful terrace) for a small supplement, and they allow takeaways to be consumed onsite, so no need to cook while you're here.

La Cite and Canal Midi are both within easy walking distance, and the hostel is surrounded by bars, restaurants and cafes. A traditional townhouse, twin rooms are standard, but the hostel's British owners are happy to add extra beds for larger groups wishing to share. A continental breakfast is provided at no extra cost, and the owners are willing to share their wealth of knowledge about the city and how best to travel in and around it.
