This city is a good place to visit for one to three days. During our first trip to The Hague in the fall of 2021, we fell in love with its international atmosphere and vibrant beachfront boardwalk. We've come back several times since then to experience it even more. The Hague is an international city that sits on the North Sea coast. It is home to the Dutch parliament as well as many restaurants and a fun beach. Head out to the pier for bungee jumping, trampoline parks, and other family-friendly activities. The city is home to a large expat population and you'll find many diverse restaurants in the area.

Reasons to Visit The Hague

Food
The city has a diverse population and the large number of ethnic restaurants reflects that.

Nightlife
Many of the city's restaurants turn into clubs at night. Head to The Grote Markt for some of the most energetic nightlife.

Music
There's an active music scene here and the city actually played an active role in the development and popularity of electronic music.

Shopping
There's a dynamic shopping scene with indoor malls, outdoor markets, and a number of neighborhoods that have shops that sell eclectic items.

Authenticity
The Hague has an authentic vibe where you can experience local culture, cuisine, and activities without the large tourist crowds of other popular destinations.




Is The Hague worth visiting in the Summer?

The high season for travel in The Hague is the summer, so expect to see more tourists than usual. Even though this destination is not very touristy, in the high season it's busier than usual because this is when most visitors come here.

You'll find the weather to be very nice here during summer with average temperatures around 17°C (62°F).

The activities of the city are numerous, and this is a great time of year to explore all of them. From family-friendly attractions to romantic getaways, as well as budget-friendly things to do, there's something for everyone. Famous landmarks, museums, tours, and more are all available. During this season it's fun to experience the big city activities and the nightlife.

The weather in The Hague can be quite cold during winter, and averages around 2°C (36°F). But be prepared for much lower temperatures, too.

You'll like that you can take public transit easily in the winter, too. You can get around quickly while avoiding bad weather if needed. You'll find plenty to do during winter, as you'll be able to enjoy a meal at a restaurant, enjoy the evening activities, and enjoy the live music scene. Also, you can experience the big city activities.
