With a perfect location in the central part of historic Bern, and a long list of amenities for guests, you really can't go wrong with this award winning hostel.

Private rooms and dorms are available with shared bathrooms. A communal kitchen is just off of the comfortable common room, and includes everything you would need to cook. The common room is a nice place to meet other travelers and plan your trips around the city or elsewhere in Switzerland. Free Wi-Fi is included, as are free transportation passes for the city. Laundry is onsite, too.

The social vibe is good, as the dorms themselves encourage social interaction, as does the bar just below the hostel.

The staff is friendly, helpful, and can help book tours or activities, or arrange transportation.

Only dorms and bunk beds are available, but rooms are of various sizes starting at 2 beds and going all the way up to 18 and 20 bed rooms (great for large group bookings). Bathrooms are shared.

The social vibe is enhanced by the spacious dining hall, the common areas with foosball and TVs, and the outdoor terrace with a BBQ.

Free breakfast is served, buffet style, in the large dining hall which is a great spot to meet other travelers and plan the day around Bern. A free city transportation pass is also included. Internet, a small supermarket, luggage storage, laundry, car parking, and other typical hostel amenities are also available.

The rooms are simple but well furnished, and bathrooms are shared yet very clean and modern. Only private rooms are available, some larger than others. A communal kitchen is also onsite for those wishing to cook their own meals.

The location is good. Although it is not in the historic city center, it is not far either. Restaurants and shops can be found in the surrounding streets.
