How to spend a day in Chiang Mai

If you have more than a weekend (two to three days) in Chiang Mai, you'll appreciate the added time for everything the city has to offer.
Known for it's hiking, Chiang Mai sees plenty of visitors looking to get outdoors. Spend a day exploring the natural beauty and scenery on a nearby hike. Many people use this city as a base for a trekking excursion into the surrounding countryside. The land is lush and beautiful and many treks also expose you to the welcoming Hilltribe people of Northern Thailand.
