Why would you recommend Halong Bay to budget travelers? Or, why not?
The scenery here is gorgeous but we almost ended up spending a ton of money. We had booked a boat tour for a few days and only later realized that some of the tours are much different in price and luxury than others. So we changed to a more budget-friendly boat that didn't have all of the fancy stuff, but it was still really fun and the food was great, too. I guess if you want to do a more high-end tour then they are easy to find.
