Taiwan is an international city with many crowded cities, but also wonderful, lush forests and dramatic, steep mountains. It's an island nation former known as, and governed by the Republic of China.

Many travelers skip Taiwan as a travel destination, perhaps because it is viewed as an international, cosmopolitan destination. This does not mean there isn't plenty to see and do on the island, and is well worth a visit.
