Nara is an ancient capital of the Nara Prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan. It's often skipped by visitors in favor of the nearby Kyoto, but it is a very impressive place to visit with a lot to offer travelers who take the time to stay here. There are many historic sights in the area including Nara Park.

Nara has some great budget hostels and guesthouses that you can choose from, but it is best to make reservations well in advance, particularly if you're traveling during a peak time like the month of August. Christmas, New Years, and early November are also popular times to visit the town. Prices tend to climb as the date approaches, so early reservations can also help you keep you budget in check.

Guesthouse Nara Backpackers is a beautiful and charming guest house in Nara, Japan. It opened in 2011 and it's just three minutes from the World Heritage Site. It's located in an impressive Japanese house that is more than one hundred years old. The inside is decorated with a modern Japanese design and it offers a comfortable place to relax after a busy day exploring the area.

This is a wonderful place to spend some time while you're in Nara. It has a comfortable lounge area, a large Japanese garden, a small library, and a shared kitchen which guests can use. There is also wi-fi available throughout, laundry facilities, and luggage storage.

There are twin private rooms and six and four bed dorm rooms available. Female only dorms are available.

The Deer Park Inn is another nice place to stay in Nara. It's one of the only budget guesthouses that's actually located in the Nara World Heritage area and it's just a short walk from Todaiji Temple and Kasuga Grand Shrine. It's a beautiful place to relax and soak up the atmosphere. If you want to enjoy the area's rich history and culture, as well as the surrounding scenery, then this is a great place to stay. There are many wild deer that wander through the park and you'll feel like you've escaped to nature here. Many of the hostel's private rooms have views that look out over the park and forest. The hostel is also situated at the foot of Mount Wakakusa and the views are impressive.

The guesthouse has a great atmosphere. It's been decorated with traditional wooden furnishings and there is a relaxed, mountain lodge feel. There are also many modern amenities available for guests including free wi-fi and a shared kitchen which guests can use.

The hostel has double private rooms as well as four and six bed dorms. Four bed dorms are female only.
