Hakone is a mountainous area that is west of Tokyo in Japan. The area is famous for its hot springs and most accommodation options include bathing facilities. If you don't stay the night, many hotels also open their baths up to visitors during the day for an additional fee.

There are also a variety of sights in the area. Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park is home to Lake Ashinoko, which is a popular tourist destination with great views of Mount Fuji. There's also the Great Boiling Valley which is a volcanic hot spot with sulphurous hot springs. Other popular destinations in the area include Hakone Jinja Shrine and the Hakone Open Air Museum which displays many different sculptures and artwork in a park area.

Hakone has many onsen ryokan, which are traditional style Japanese inns that also have hot springs and baths on-site. The quality and cost of the facilities and vary dramatically so read several reviews before booking. Prices also tend to climb on weekends in part due to the area's proximity to Tokyo.

K's House Hakone is located about a kilometer from Hakone-Yumoto Station. It's part of a popular hostel chain in Japan and it is a reliable and comfortable place to stay. The hostel takes advantage of the hot spring setting there's a communal natural hot spring with open air bath where guests can relax.

This hostel is a bit removed from some of the area's restaurants. There's a kitchen on-site where many guests enjoy preparing their own meals. This is a great way to save some money as well.

Whether you're traveling alone or as part of a group, this is a good hostel. There are a wide variety of private rooms and dorms to choose from. The private room options include twins, three bed, four bed, five bed, and six bed rooms. The dorms sleep four, six, or eight people and both co-ed and female only rooms are available.

The hostel is also very safe and secure with security lockers, safety deposit boxes and luggage storage available for guests.

The hostel is located about a forty minute train ride from Hakone-Yumoto Station on the Odakyu Line. It's also about a half hour drive from Lake Ashi (Ashinoko) and the Hakone Open Air Museum is less than a ten minute drive away. It's just a short walk from Gora Station on the Hakone Tozan Line.

The hostel has a friendly staff and it is a great place to relax with other travelers, enjoy a cold drink, and rest soundly in a comfortable bed.
