Is Body Worlds Worth Visiting in Amsterdam?

Known for its biological displays of human bodies and other scientific exhibits, Body Worlds is a fairly well-known museum in Amsterdam.

If you have time to visit, it's worth it as it's one of the more popular attractions in Amsterdam. This is not the most busy spot in the city, but it can still see large crowds during peak times and during peak travel season.

What is Body Worlds?

Body Worlds Amsterdam is an intriguing and educational exhibition that offers a unique exploration of the human body. Created by anatomist Gunther von Hagens, the exhibition showcases real human bodies that have been preserved through a process called "plastination". Visitors can explore the intricate inner workings of the human body through a series of meticulously dissected and preserved specimens. The exhibition presents a wide range of displays, from individual organs and skeletal structures to whole-body plastinates in various poses, providing a profound understanding of human anatomy and physiology.

Families with kids really enjoy visiting, so if you're traveling with children, make a point to see it. It's not particularly romantic for couples, but not bad either. It's fairly popular with budget travelers and backpackers, too. Younger travelers tend to find it quite interesting and fun.
