A modern and social hostel in the heart of Madrid, highly recommended
Dorm Bed: $19.12
As a relatively new entry to the hostel scene in Madrid, the Bastardo checks all the boxes of things you need and want on your list of what makes up the perfect hostel. The air-conditioned rooms are modern, clean, and come in a variety of sizes. Larger group dorm rooms of up to 6 people are available, as are smaller rooms with only a few beds. Every room has an ensuite bathroom. Furthermore, private ensuite rooms with balconies are can be obtained for those that want hotel privacy with a hostel atmosphere.
The location can't be beat, either. Located right in the middle of Madrid, just north of Gran Via, it's only a few blocks from the Tribunal metro station. You're only minutes from everything Madrid has to offer, including bars (near Chueca!), restaurants, world-class museums, and amazing historical sights. But don't worry, the rooms are quiet and relaxing so that you can get your much-needed rest.
The hostel has a large common area on the ground floor. Here guests can mix and mingle and grab some food or a drink from the restaurant and bar. Another bar is located up on the terrace, too, with great views over Madrid. Many events and activities are also hosted in the common area of the hostel, which makes for a great place to be entertained and educated on everything from art to music to the cultural scene.
Other amenities include free linens, free wi-fi, laundry, a communal kitchen for those who wish to cook, parking, hot showers, reading lights and plugs for every bed, in-room lockers, baggage storage, and more.
