@Box Hostel is a unique place to stay in Chiang Mai. It's actually built with shipping containers and it's located on Chang Puek Gate. There's easy access to the many sights around Chiang Mai's Old Town and it is about a ten minute walk to the Sunday Market. The hostel has a nice rooftop bar area where many guests enjoy hanging out and relaxing.

The hostel has three and four bed dorms. Each room is air conditioned and every bed has an individual locker, reading light, and power outlets. If you want a little more space and privacy there are double or triple private rooms available as well. There are also common areas, a kitchen, and video games that guests can enjoy. Laundry service is available.

This is a mellow hostel where it's easy to meet other guests. There's a relaxed environment but the place is social enough that if you're backpacking alone you'll likely meet some other guest.

The Monkey Toe is a well designed and relaxing hostel located just outside the walls of old town Chiang Mai, on the north side near the Chang Phuak Gate (with a 2 minute walk, you'll be in the old town). The decor is gorgeous, and the vibe is fun and relaxing.

Offering dorms and private rooms, the bunks are private and separated with walls, and include lights and plugs. The common area has a pool table, space to eat, and plenty of relaxing lounge seating. The bathrooms are also modern and clean.

This is a nice option for anyone looking to stay in a fun but comfortable and quiet spot with easy access to explore the city and make some new friends.
