A social hostel for backpackers, couples, and solo travelers
Located just a few minutes' walk to everything in central Hobart, the Pickled Frog is an award winning, locally-owned hostel with a fun and vibrant social atmosphere. Recently refurbished, this older building has tons of charm without sacrificing any modern amenities or conveniences. The interior decor is worth seeing, as every hallway has some type of interesting paint scheme.
Their in-house bar and their spacious, comfortable common area (with log fires in the winter) provide a great spot to mix and mingle with your fellow guests. A large communal kitchen is fully stocked for those guests that like to cook, and the common areas have tables, games, coffee and tea, and more. The staff helps to arrange tours and activities, and provides free advice on everything to do in town or around the rest of Tasmania. Also, they offer free shuttles to various places nearby such as Mt. Wellington, the MONA art museum, and the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary.
Dorms and private rooms are available of different sizes, including an apartment. An all-female dorm option is also available. They also have parking, Wi-Fi, laundry, luggage storage, and more
Guest reviews highlight the comfortable feel and social vibe of this fairly busy hostel. There will always be other guests to meet, and the staff and facilities facilitate interaction all year.
