The city of Innsbruck has been called the world's largest ski resort, as the city itself is surrounded by mountains, ski resorts, and everything related. The city itself is nice with historic architecture, good restaurants, shopping, and more. But the true sights and draw of the region lies in the surrounding mountains.

In the mountains to the south of Innsbruck lies this gem of a hostel at the base of one of the popular ski areas in Fulpmes. With consistently high reviews and tons of great amenities, it's no surprise that this hostel is quite popular, especially in the winter. Dorms and private rooms are available, but there are so many activities both in the hostel and nearby that you'll hardly spend any time in them.

Several common rooms are decked out with a pool table, bar, foosball, a poker table, TVs and game consoles, and a cozy fireplace. There is also a large hot tub to keep you warm in the winter as well as a Sauna. Free breakfast is also available, and the shared kitchen is for those who wish to cook meals.

The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and feels like a real home.

For activities, they have a ski and boot storage room. And in the summer, hiking trails are close by. Bikes can be rented to explore even further.

You can't go wrong here, highly recommended, if you can even get in!

In Igls, a town just south of Innsbruck (about 30 minutes' ride to the city center), lies this affordable and spacious hotel situated at one of the ski resorts. Private rooms are available of varying sizes, and the larger rooms would make a good fit for a small group of budget travelers looking to share a room, or even a family. Rooms are cozy, comfortable, and decorated in an alpine style. Ensuite bathrooms are clean, modern, and well appointed.

Plenty of activities are nearby, including skiing with one of the cable cars to take you up the mountain just outside the hotel. Hiking in the summer is naturally a draw to this area, but also on the list is swimming in the lake, tennis, beach volleyball, mountain biking, golf, bobsleigh, and more.

On the list of amenities are free Wi-Fi, free parking, TVs, outdoor garden areas, and more.

Guest reviews highlight the friendly staff, clean facilities, and terrific outdoor surroundings. Some guests claim that it is too far from Innsbruck, but you should keep in mind that this hotel is on the ski slopes of a resort and not in the city. The staff gets terrific reviews!

The onsite restaurant serves quality food with a charming alpine atmosphere, and not just to guests.

Private rooms with ensuite bathrooms are available. The rooms are nicely decorated and the bathrooms are very modern and clean. You won't find any fault here with this traditional hotel. The views of some of the rooms overlook the small town, and everywhere around you are the mountains.

They also offer free parking, free Wi-Fi, an outdoor terrace and garden area, tour booking and transportation arrangements, and more.

Guest reviews are consistently positive, stating that basically everything is awesome from the staff to the restaurant, from the rooms to the views. Check out the photos!

Guest reviews are mixed, stating that the cleanliness is not consistent and the location is not ideal. The staff is said to be very friendly and helpful, though.
