Koh Tarutao is the largest island of Tarutao National Park. It's a peaceful and secluded island that is 11 kilometers wide and 26 kilometers long. It's possible to stay the night at a simple bungalow or with a rented tent. The island has beautiful beaches and hiking trails to explore. There are also kayaks and mountain bikes available to rent.

Things to Consider Before Visiting Koh Tarutao

Museums
Koh Tarutao isn't a place that's filled with a huge number of sights and attractions. This island is all about remote natural settings that will take your breath away, but you won't find anything in the form of temples or museums.

Nightlife
Most people don't associate Koh Tarutao with a lively nightlife scene. There's a good chance you'll have this island almost completely to yourself. The few restaurants on the island close early and you'll likely head to bed early after taking in the stunning night sky.

Shopping
Koh Tarutao isn't exactly a shopper's destination. There's a small shop at the visitor center where you can pick up simple drinks and snacks.

Food: Koh Tarutao doesn't top the list for most foodies. There are three restaurants on the island that have limited hours so, if possible, it's best to arrive with some snacks. The food is simple and can get repetitive if you eat the same meals several days in a row.

Getting Around
The area is not very walkable, and public transit is not great here, so it might be difficult to get around without arranging your own transportation.
