Whether you're a a couple or a backpacker, this city has a lot to offer. Any local will tell you what makes it special is the great nightlife and amazing resorts.

Atlantic City is a top gambling and party destination on the East Coast. This New Jersey beach town has casinos, hotels, and nightclubs that line the sandy beach and boardwalk. You'll also find comedy acts and music concerts in town.

1. Nightlife

This is a city that is all about its nightlife scene. Many visitors come here just to party, and you'll find clubs with DJs or bands playing from sunset to sunrise. There are glitzy lounges and dive bars with everything in between. As a gambling town, there are casinos and all-night activities that keep the energy going round the clock.

2. Resorts

The beach and boardwalk are lined with casinos and resorts. There are many recognizable names such as Harrah's, Bally's, Caesars, Hard Rock, and the Tropicana.

There are budget buffets around town as well as seafood restaurants and even some fine dining. Salt water taffy is a local specialty that you should pick up while you're in the area.

You'll find many souvenir shops along the boardwalk. There's also a Tangier Outlet Mall in the area. Some of the hotels such as the Tropicana have their own shopping areas as well.

The high season for travel in Atlantic City is the summer, so expect to see more tourists than usual. This destination is very popular with tourists, and in the high season it's even busier than usual as this is when most people like to visit. Expect tourist crowds to be very large, and prices to be higher than normal. However, there's plenty to do here this time of year, too.

Things to Consider Before Visiting Atlantic City
