Is Baltimore worth visiting?

Baltimore is worth visiting for two to three days so that you can explore everything that the city has to offer. We first visited Baltimore in in our young adulthood and visited many times when we lived nearby in Washington DC.. During our time here, we fell in love with its fun Inner Harbor and many unique neighborhoods. Baltimore, Maryland is a popular destination for its impressive aquarium and fun Inner Harbor. The city is filled with diverse neighborhoods and many different museums. There are historical ships that highlight the city's maritime past. There are also many excellent restaurants that let you sample the local seafood from the Chesapeake Bay.

Reasons to Visit Baltimore

Museums
The city is known for its historic ships that are found in the Inner Harbor. There are many other museums around town as well like the American Visionary Art Museum, the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, and the Baltimore Museum of Art. Many days can be filled exploring the many art, history, or science museums in the area.

Food
The city's location near the Chesapeake Bay means that there are many great local seafood dishes. Blue crab is a regional favorite and is often served as crab soup, crab dip, or crab cakes. You'll find many famous restaurants in the Inner Harbor, but if you want something more local you should check out Little Italy or Fells Point.

Nightlife
It's a vibrant city with many night time activities like breweries, night clubs, and cocktail bars. There's even outside the box activities like ballroom dancing or arcade bars.

Shopping
Shopping is a great way to experience the different neighborhoods around town. For high end shopping head to Harbor East. For a bit more history check out Federal Hill. Hampden is known for its quirky style and Fell's Point is particularly popular with tourists.




Is Baltimore worth visiting in the Summer?

The weather in Baltimore is fairly warm during summer, and stays around 25°C (78°F). But it can get as warm as 31°C (88°F) at times, too. It's also quite rainy during this season, so be prepared.

The peak season for travel is summer in Baltimore, so expect to see more tourists than usual. This destination is quite popular with tourists, and in the high season it's even busier than usual as this is when most people like to visit. Expect crowds to be large, and prices to be a bit higher than normal. However, there's plenty to do here this time of year, too.

You'll also find it quite easy to get around on foot, because this is a very walkable city, especially in the nice weather. This is a great time of year to wander through the museums, enjoy the city's energy, and grab some drinks at a bar.

Is Baltimore worth visiting in the Autumn?

Autumn is the shoulder season for travel in Baltimore. This destination is quite touristy, so in the shoulder season you can still find plenty of crowds, but better prices.

You'll find the weather to be very nice here during autumn with average temperatures around 14°C (57°F).

Autumn is a great time of year to explore the numerous museums and landmarks around town. They are fun for the whole family as well great for couples. You'll find plenty to do during autumn, as you'll be able to browse through museums and discover the big city activities.

Is Baltimore worth visiting in the Winter?

This is the low season for travel in Baltimore. This destination is quite touristy, but in the low season you'll see fewer crowds and much better prices.

The weather in Baltimore can be quite cold during winter, and averages around 0°C (32°F). But be prepared for much lower temperatures, too.

You'll like that you can take public transit easily in the winter, too. You can get around quickly while avoiding bad weather if needed. During this season it's fun to experience the famous sights and museums, the cuisine, and the nightlife scene. Also, you can soak up the big city atmosphere.
