There are also boulders spread throughout which are fun for scrambling or rock climbing. The desert landscapes offer dramatic views and the hikes pass through surreal landscapes.

Hiking
There are a wide range of hikes that include easy, moderate, and strenuous options. Some of the best hikes include Discovery Trail, Boy Scout Trail, and Black Rock Canyon Panorama Loop.




Things to Consider Before Visiting Joshua Tree National Park

Food
Joshua Tree National Park doesn't top the list for most foodies. There aren't any restaurants inside the park, so you'll want to pack your own food and eat at one of the picnic areas.

Nightlife
Most people don't associate Joshua Tree National Park with a lively nightlife scene. Stargazing and gathering around campfires are the most popular activities during the evening.

Shopping
Joshua Tree National Park isn't exactly a shopper's destination. There is a park store where you can pick up gifts or other items.
