You know what will make your trip to Europe glorious this year? A scenic drive between Split and Dubrovnik in Croatia. Hard to believe the country caught up in a war two decades ago is now beckoning travelers with its Mediterranean streets, Adriatic coast, orange-clad homes, and surreal countryside.
Only a couple of weeks ago I returned from a backpacking trip that was like no other I have ever been on, exploring the Caribbean island of Cuba! Arriving in Cuba was like taking a time machine back to the 1950’s, which is probably why travelling there was such a different experience - and such an unforgettable one.
This week's photos are from our time in Varanasi, India (also known as Benares). The River Ganges flows through the city and is considered the holiest place in the world for Hindus. People come to bathe and cleanse themselves in the river along the many ghats which descend from the city streets into the river.
