This region is a good place to visit for two to three days. The Columbia River Gorge is a scenic canyon that has been carved by the Columbia River. It's located in the state of Oregon, not far from Portland. The Historic Columbia River Highway weaves its way through the canyon for about 75 miles between Troutdale and The Dalles. It's popular with visitors, who stop for the frequent viewpoints and waterfalls. We first visited in 2017 and have returned several times. During our time here, we fell in love with its dramatic waterfalls and natural beauty.

Winter is the low season for travel in Columbia River Gorge. This destination is quite touristy, but in the low season you'll see fewer crowds and much better prices.

Museums: Columbia River Gorge isn't a place that's filled with a huge number of sights and attractions. There are a couple of local museums in the area, but most visitors spend their time exploring the region's natural beauty.

Getting Around
The area is not very walkable, and public transit is not great here, so it might be difficult to get around without arranging your own transportation.
