Required Permits for Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek

1. Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit
The Khumbu region government of Khumbu charges USD 20 (NPR 2000) per person for this permit. You can receive this permit in Lukla or in Monjo.

2. Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit
You need a permit worth USD 30 (NPR 3000) to enter the Sagarmatha National Park premises. You can get it from Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu or you can get it in Monjo.

Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
As you land in the Tribhuvan International Airport, your trek guide or coordinator welcomes you. Then, you head towards one of the finest hotels in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Flight to Lukla Airport, then Trek from Lukla to Phakding

Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 meters)

Day 6: Acclimatization at Dingboche
The 6th day of the EBC luxury trek will be an acclimatization day. On this day, panoramic views of peaks like Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Yu, and numerous other peaks are visible from Dingboche.

Day 7: Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940 meters)
After resting and acclimatizing in Dingboche, you walk towards Lobuche. Your journey takes you through a challenging route. It takes anywhere between 5-6 hours to reach Lobuche.

Day 8: Lobuche to Gorak Shep, Gorak Shep to Base Camp (5,380 meters) and Back to Gorak Shep
On the 8th day, your destination will be Everest Base Camp. You slowly trek towards the base camp through Gorak Shep. After a few hours, you reach the base camp of the tallest mountain peak on Earth!

From the basecamp, you descend back to Gorak Shep for the night. It takes around 7-8 hours to complete the hike for the day.

Day 9: Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,643 meters), Fly Back from Kala Patthar to Lukla to Kathmandu
The 9th day is the final day in the Himalayas. You will start trekking to Kala Patthar from Gorak Shep for roughly 2 hours. From Kala Patthar, you will fly to Lukla via a helicopter. It takes around 25 minutes to reach Luka. After fueling at Lukla, you fly back to Kathmandu.
