The Bronx

The Bronx is the northernmost borough in New York City. It is known as the home of Yankee Stadium, the Bronx Zoo, and the New York Botanical Garden and despite being the third most populated county in the United States, the Bronx also has a surprising amount of green space. It is also famous as the birthplace of hip-hop and is a cultural mecca. You can walk down Arthur Avenue and pass by the Bronx's Little Italy or head to South Bronx to enjoy some shopping along The Grand Concourse.

Brooklyn

Brooklyn is west of Manhattan just across from the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. It is an affluent neighborhood with a laid back vibe and plenty of great restaurants, bars, and parks. Each neighborhood has its own atmosphere and appeals to its own diverse population. This borough feels slightly less cramped than Manhattan, but it's still easily accessible to everything you could need. It's also the most populated borough in New York City.

Head to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade for scenic views, or grab a slice of pizza and explore the family-friendly Prospect Park neighborhood. There is no shortage of things to do and places to explore in the area.

Staten Island

Staten Island is the southernmost borough in New York City. It's connected to Lower Manhattan by ferry and it has a suburban, family-friendly atmosphere with a number of kid friendly activities like zoos, gardens, and parks. Staten Island is also famous for its many architectural landmarks, beaches, and shopping opportunities.

Queens

Located on the eastern side of New York City, Queens is the largest borough geographically. It has a more suburban atmosphere and it moves at a slightly more relaxed pace. This borough has a down-to-earth quality that still offers easy access to everything that the city has to offer. Queens is also a very diverse borough and you can enjoy the many different ethnic restaurants and cultural opportunities that are available here.

Manhattan

Manhattan is the quintessential New York City destination. For most visitors, this is what they think of when they think of the city. It's where you'll find the iconic skyscrapers, world-class museums, and the famous Central Park. It's located at the center of the five boroughs, and despite being geographically small, it's filled with dozens of neighborhoods and constantly changing atmospheres. Manhattan is synonymous with a bustling, energetic lifestyle, and this fast-paced borough will never bore.

If you stay in Manhattan, you can expect a convenient location at a high price for a small space. You'll be at the center of the action and it's perfect for late nights or early mornings, but be prepared to pay steeply.
