A good hostel for solo travellers and budget travellers.
The Jane is an affordable and comfortable "upscale hostel" in the West Village facing the Hudson River. It's located in a building that, between 1908 and 1940 served as a hotel for sailors. Still today you can see reference to the nautical history of the building. There are "cabin rooms" which are quite compact and small, and there are "captain cabins" which are slightly larger. Some rooms also offer views of the Hudson. The rooms have been upgraded with air conditioning, televisions, and any other modern conveniences that you might need. Still, the rooms are charming and cozy.
The hostel is conveniently located and very affordable. If you're traveling alone, this is a great option where you can enjoy privacy and a quiet setting without breaking the bank - a rare find in NYC. Even with the affordable price, The Jane has a lot of character and charm. It's truly a unique place to stay in the city.
