The Bulldog has a long standing reputation as one of the best party hostels in Amsterdam. It's the place to go to drink, smoke, and generally have a good time. The associated coffee shop is a popular place to hang out and there's always a crowd here, given its strong reputation.

With a big reputation comes big expectations. Most guests say the hostel lives up to its name, but some guests feel there are better deals and experiences found elsewhere in Amsterdam. This hostel is a classic though, so for many it's a not to be missed part of the Amsterdam experience.

This hostel has dorms that sleep between 8 and 12 people. There are both mixed and female only rooms available. The rooms are brightly colored and the beds are basic but comfortable. Security lockers are provided but bring your own padlock. All of the dorms also have ensuite bathrooms and both bed linens and towels are provided.
Private Rooms

For guests who like their privacy and have a little bit more money to spend, there are private double, twin, triple and quad rooms. There's also a four person private suite with it's own living space and a small kitchen.
Bathrooms
The bathroom layout is a bit annoying at this hostel. There's no divider between the shower and the toilet, so things get wet. The bathrooms could also stand to be cleaned more regularly.
Bar
The Lounge Bar is the place most guests go to hang out and drink or smoke. The place has a social but chill vibe, and it's easy to meet people from all over the world. It's a popular bar and there are always people hanging around, so you can expect the party to last late into the night.
Common Areas
Head to the rooftop terrace if you need a breath of fresh air. You can enjoy the impressive views of Oude Kerk and all of the charm that Amsterdam has to offer.

This hostel is located right in the heart of Amsterdam right by The Red Light District. There's an attached coffeeshop with plenty of other places to explore nearby. If you're looking to experience everything that Amsterdam has to offer, just hop on a bike and travel like a local. Most of the city's top attractions are just a short walk or bike ride away.
Nearby Transportation
Once you arrive at the hostel, there's really no need for public transportation, as everything is easily accessible on foot or by bike. If you're arriving by train, Centraal Station is less than a 15 minute walk away.
