Agadir is a city with a long and tragic past. In 1960 the city suffered from an earthquake, destroying the city including the ancient Kasbah. They began rebuilding the city center on a grid system, making it easy for today's visitors to navigate and get around this city. The new city is full of boulevards with cafes and a mix of 1960s and classic Moroccan architecture. Today, the city is still growing and welcomes European vacationers to its resort destinations.
