Miami is the largest metropolis in Florida. It's located in the South Florida region and is about twenty miles from Fort Lauderdale. Many tourists assume Miami and Miami Beach are the same, but in fact they are actually two separate municipalities.

Many people head to Miami Beach for it's resorts and fun beach scene. In particular, the South Beach area is popular with tourists. If you're traveling on a budget, a hostel may be your best way to experience the great beaches of Miami without breaking the bank. There are a handful of hostels in and around South Beach.
