YHA London Central London Hostel Review and Information

Had a great stay here at YHA London Central. The location was great - close to the tube and plenty of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. Would recommend as this is a good place for the cost. - Anonymous

This is a very large hostel with a quiet atmosphere. The price is low, the facilities are basic, and the atmosphere is calm. It's perfect for travelers who want to be in the heart of everything but don't want a party hostel. Many guests feel it has the atmosphere of a hotel, which they appreciate.

YHA London Central

YHA London Central Hostel is a great option if you want to be near everything without paying a high price. The hostel is walking distance to many popular neighborhoods including the famous Oxford Street. The surrounding neighborhood is upscale with fancy restaurants and cafes nearby. The building is very secure with keycard access to the elevator and rooms.

The hostel has seven floors with at least 60 guests per floor. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. There's a casual cafe and bar in the hostel that guests enjoy hanging out in. While the atmosphere is quiet and calm, it's a very welcoming setting where you can really enjoy your visit to London.

This hostel has six bed dorm rooms that are split into separate male and female rooms. The rooms are basic but light and comfortable.
Private Rooms

In addition to the dorm rooms, there are private rooms that either four or six people. These rooms are similar to the dorms. They are very basic rooms with bunk beds, but they're perfect for a group of friends that are traveling together.
Bathrooms
There are shared bathrooms available on each floor. There are about 60 guests per floor, so the bathrooms can get a bit crowded at times so plan accordingly. Many rooms do actually have their own private en-suite, particularly the private rooms, which is a nice convenience.
Restaurant
The hostel's on-site cafe and bar is a great place to hang out with other guests. It has a casual atmosphere so it's perfect sipping a drink or enjoying a quick bite to eat. The food is simple but affordable with options available like pizza or snack food.
Common Areas
The large lounge area is a nice place to hang out. There's a pool table and foosball as well as comfortable seating. It offers a relaxed atmosphere with background music playing and a friendly vibe.

This hostel is located in the high end neighborhood of Fitzrovia. It's in central London and is convenient for many popular sights and attractions. The hostel is just a five minute walk from the famous Oxford Street and Oxford Circus is less than ten minutes away. It's also a short walk from West End and the Soho neighborhood. Many other popular destinations are nearby including Regent's Park, King's Cross, Baker Street, Leicester Square, and Covent Garden.
Nearby Transportation
Many popular areas are walking distance from the hostel, but if you want to travel further, public transportation is very easy to access. The closest tube stations are Great Portland Street, which is less than 5 minutes away, and Oxford Circus, which is less than ten minutes away. From their you can reach almost anywhere in London you'd like to visit.

Activities

This hostel organizes a few great activities for guests, so make sure you inquire when you arrive. There are free walking tours during the day and pub crawls at night. There's also adventure activities available like boating on the river or a group outing to a show in West End.

Staff

This is a very large hostel and the staff do a great job keeping things running smoothly. There's a professional atmosphere and check in and check out are usually quick and smooth. Travel information is available if you ask.

Heads Up

Guests generally enjoy this hostel, but some visitors felt the extra expenses for breakfast and padlocks were annoying. This is actually pretty common at hostels in London though.
